There appears to be some confusion as to how the new channel set up is working. Complaints have been that folks don't know what channel they are in and I can understand that with the subchannels at the top of the list, it doesn't work well. What will help is to use the option to set Users to be above channels.
- Open mumble and go to Configure → Settings
- At the bottom left of the window, make sure "Advanced" is checked.
- In the left side menu go to User Interface
- Under the section 'Channel Tree'
- Set Expand to "All"
- Check "Users above Channels"
This will make it so users will appear to be in the correct channel with sub-channels out of the way.
