  1. Open mumble and go to Configure → Settings
  2. At the bottom left of the window, make sure "Advanced" is checked.
  3. In the left side menu go to User Interface
  4. Under the section 'Channel Tree'
  5. Set Expand to "All"
  6. Check "Users above Channels"
This will make it so users will appear to be in the correct channel with sub-channels out of the way.
